Black Fittings not Painted on the Inside

We’ve seen a number of people complain about black EK fittings not being painted on the inside. And contrary to popular belief, that is not the case of EK being cheap or manufacturing process being simpler. The reason behind it is the fact that paint pollution of the coolant is less likely to happen this way.

No matter how good the paint, there’s always a chance that some small piece might dislodge or a fragment might pollute the coolant, causing fallout in the case of colored coolants. The liquid can erode the paint over time and cause either clogging or pollution and eventual fallout of the coolant if bigger chunks are broken off. We’d prefer you using our fittings for many years to come without any similar issues or worries, which is why we simply dont paint the inside if its possible, as it doesn’t have any aesthetic drawbacks. The inside of the fitting is something you won’t be able to see once the tubing and the locking ring are in place.
